A few things about me and how I started designing
I was into paper scrapping and card making for years when I stumbled upon digital scrapbooking as I was in the midst of searching for craft supplies for my scrapbook albums. This led me to wonder, ‘Why would anyone want to create scrapbooks digitally?’ That was, until I discovered the endless possibilities with the digital world, and so I became hooked right away. Not to mention, with small children around the house it’s much easier to turn off the computer than put all the supplies away in an organized manner.
I began designing my own papers and elements when I didn’t find what I was looking for, and spent countless nights going through tutorials. When that didn’t satisfy my interest, I registered for the graphic design classes at Humber College.
I entered to compete in the designer contest at Stone Accents Studio in 2008 just to get my name out and challenge myself. I was truly surprised to win a spot in the designer team and have been with them ever since. Stone Accents Studio changed owners in April 2009 and is now called Digital Scrapbooking Studio. It’s a great, friendly community where designers, CT and the members feel like home.
I am also proudly part of the design team at Digidesignresort, another wonderful digiscrapping community. They have a great team working together not only to keep scrappers inspired, but also to offer resources and classes for beginners and advanced members in Safari Lounge.
When Lynn Griffin invited me to join her store, Digital Scrap Boutique, I was delighted to do so.
It’s not easy to describe my designing style; it’s eclectic since I try different styles depending on the themes and colours I’m working with. I can be inspired by many things around me. I love antiques and I create many vintage/heritage theme kits, but I create fantasy/kids inspired kits as well. I mostly design full kits, but also have designer resources or Commercial Use items in my stores.

On a Personal Note:
My name is Monika, designer name: Monika Designs.
I am currently a stay at home mom for 3.
I live in Ontario, Canada with my hubby and children although my roots go back to Hungary where I grew up. I have many interests including books, sewing, cooking, health, photography, paper- and digital scrapping.
It seems like digital scrapbooking has taken over other hobbies; it’s a great way to challenge my mind and creativity. I’m constantly looking for new ideas to work with and find that there are just not enough hours in a day.
